In many ways, our lives are not much different than a business. In running a successful business for a long period of time many activities and decisions are carefully considered. One bad decision, the inability to adapt quickly, not resourcing or budgeting strategically, losing sight of the big picture, making results the only thing that matters, or not getting the vision right can hurt or ruin a business.
The same is true for us in our lives. In the quest to live a vibrant and healthy life, many decisions will need to be made daily. Often, we become overwhelmed with the competing priorities and inundation of information about living a healthy life. Applying business principles to our lives can help us to strategize and align what we do with what we want. Remember, the business of your life will be the most important business you will ever run!

Dr. Raquel Garzon is President of Revitalize Project, a performance and wellness consulting company, and an Assistant Professor, Wellness and Nutrition Specialist at New Mexico State University in Cooperative Extension. As a speaker and thought leader, Dr. Garzon has delivered inspirational and valuable wellness and performance workshops to thousands of high performers in the areas of business and sports in over 25 countries.  She has presented to executive audiences from 35 of the top Fortune 100 companies as well as to 12 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Garzon has experience in clinical, community, and government settings as well as in start-ups and media. She earned her Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University, her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Florida, and her Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Texas A&M University. She is a certified ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, a Registered Dietitian, and a Certified Personal Trainer. She currently serves on the editorial review board for the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health and Fitness Journal.
