John Harris, MEd, FAWHP
John Harris is a partner in Performance pH, a company which leverages a variety strategies to allow people to do their best work and employers to optimize business performance. Performance pH is the fourth company he has either founded or co-founded.
Considered a wellness pioneer, John was the co-founder of Harris HealthTrends, an entrepreneurial corporation specializing in health coaching and other employee wellness strategies, and served as its Chief Executive Officer for over 18 years. Through the development of multiple sales channels, Harris HealthTrends developed a base of over 100 clients and helped shape the prevention industry into what it is today. Harris HealthTrends came together with four other companies to become Axia Health Management in 2005, and was sold to Healthways in 2006, becoming the most significant sale of a wellness company at the time.
John has over 35 years of experience in the employee health field, employed in both the corporate and private sectors, and was nominated for Toledo, Ohio, Entrepreneur of the Year in 1990. He has also received a number of prestigious industry awards such as the Bill Whitmer Leadership Award, and has served as a consultant to many Fortune 500 companies and industry support organizations. John speaks internationally, and has been the author of numerous publications on employee health. He also serves on the boards of a number of not-for-profit and for-profit businesses.
In addition to his business pursuits, Mr. Harris was a two time All-American wrestler and Olympic Trials qualifier, and now mountain bike and Nordic ski races.
