Jim founded and led Whole Health Management, an innovative provider of direct contract, worksite employee health services to Fortune 500 companies, until it was merged into Walgreen Company in May of 2008. Upon the sale of Whole Health, Jim founded Luxemburg
Capital, his family investment firm, and Redrock Ventures, his personal investment firm.
Jim has over 30 years of experience developing and implementing innovative health-related services. He has been on the forefront of healthcare service delivery i ncluding urgent care, worksite medical health services, preventive health and wellness programs, health risk and disease management programs, electronic medical records, healthcare data analytics and health plan design. He was named regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008, Entrepreneur of the Year by the Association for Corporate Growth and the Dively Entrepreneurship Award by the Harvard Business School Club of Northeast Ohio.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Endotronix and is a board member or advisor to several healthcare companies. His firms have made investments in Endotronix (wireless pulmonary pressure device company), MDLive (telehealth), Myca/Hello Health (electronic medical records), Digital Insurance (insurance broker rollup), Remedy Health (bundled health services), Forward Health (big data analytics), Consumer Medical (disease management), and The Emily Program (behavioral health). He is an investor in Triple Tree Holding Company (an advisory firm focused on healthcare service and IT sectors), and an investor in Triple Tree
Prior to Whole Health, Jim co-founded and was President of the Ivy Medical Group, one of the country’s first and largest ambulatory care companies in the mid-1980s. Previously, he was Director of Planning and Human Resources at Martin Marietta Corporation’s Chemical Group.
Earlier, Jim was with Deloitte & Touché, San Francisco, where he obtained his CPA.
Jim received his BBA degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from Harvard University. Jim has served on the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, the HBS Healthcare Alumni Association Board and currently serves on the Harvard University Healthcare Initiative Advisory Board, the Harvard School of Public Health Leadership Council, the Qualcomm Life Advisory Board, and the Nanovic Institute Board at the University of Notre Dame.
