Experience an invigorating mindful practice that combines vinyasa yoga with elements adapted from tai chi, pilates, several modern dance forms, and music with captivating beats. All Levels Flow Yoga
A 60-minute foundation yoga flow class open to all levels linking breath and movement in sequences that work all of the major joints and muscles of the body. Yoga postures, meditation, and movement will be introduced and modifications will be offered to ensure accessibility to all. Learn alignment and simple breathing techniques while practicing mindful self-awareness and connection.

Hilton Head HIIT
Welcome to the 30th year of the Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference in Hilton Head, SC! While we are engulfed with research, presentations, and amazing Keynotes- take some time to physically exercise your body as well with Hilton Head HIIT! High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. This workout will use all body weight exercises, and although this is an intense type of workout, I make sure all levels are welcome to get a good sweat in!

Breath Work for Stress Management
Utilizing awareness of the breath, breathing techniques and counted breath, participants will be introduced to one of the most effective, and most accessible, ways to manage our body and mind’s reaction to stress. Sessions can be as short as 10 minutes, or as long as 1 hour, and completely customized to the group and space.
Nia® – The Body’s Way
The joy of movement can be experienced through the Nia Technique. Come spend the morning energizing your body, expanding your mind, and delighting and freeing your soul. This class will take you on a movement journey through three dance arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan) three martial arts (Aikido, Tai Chi, Taekwondo), an three healing arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander), which add to the depth and magic of NIA. Come discover the body’s way of moving but more importantly YOUR body’s way!

Pilates ReformMAT Pilates is a system of exercises that engage the mind while you develop strength, flexibility and inner awareness. Mat Pilates, specifically Pilates reformMAT is a class that will guide the participant through breath awareness while experiencing exercises and stretches that are typically performed in a Pilates studio on the specialized Pilates equipment. Performing these exercises as free weight exercises will challenge the body and center the mind. The class will be taught standing, siting, laying down or a combination of these positions. The detailed instructions, innovative Pilates teaching modality of Pilates reformMAT and mindful class format will be beneficial for a novice student to an experienced Pilates student. You will leave the class feeling physically invigorated, mentally refreshed and your spirit will be uplifted.
The HIIT Walking Workout
It’s time to up the fun and challenge of walking. This outdoor session brings fresh air together with exertion to create an exhilarating new perspective on walking. Research shows that combining walking with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) makes a real difference to key physiological indicators – improving metabolism, blood sugar management, bone density, cardiorespiratory health, mood and more. Get ready to sweat as you experience a variety of high intensity interval strategies to make walking a low-impact, vigorous workout. Walking HIIT works for participants of all ages, weights, and fitness levels.

Mindfulness, Meditation, and Music
Sessions will include guided meditations that incorporate music and sound healing. Participants will learn a variety of mindfulness practices which can promote attention, relaxation, and restoration of mind and body. The facilitator is a researcher, practitioner of mindfulness meditation, clinician, and a musician. Come in the morning to start your day with a relaxed, but energized focus; or at the end of the day for restoration. No previous experience with meditation necessary.

Stress Less: Everyday Mindfulness and Breathing Techniques
No matter if you’re in the car, between meetings, or preparing for a big presentation, the health benefits of taking a pause to be mindful and reduce stress have been noted. This activity session will provide experiential time with a variety of stress reducing techniques including breathing, mindfulness and mini yoga flows.
